What types of technology will I use in my future course work or profession?

A. How will I use them? (Choose 3 types of technology from the list in Question 2 and explain).
In my future career I intend to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Wikis. I have in the past and will continue to use Microsoft Word for word documents, papers, exams, etc. Microsoft Excel is a program I look forward to using for my grade book and record keeping. Once I get familiar with the program and its features I would like to use the program for my own financial record keeping. The Wiki site is something I would try to implement into my classroom as a resource that includes parents and students outside of the classroom. I want my students and parents to have no excuse for being current and up to date with all that happens in the classroom.

B. How will I change the ways I search on the Internet?
Now when I search the internet I will be sure to use many of the techniques I learned from the Google Search Prezi. There were many techniques like Boolean phrases, using ‘OR’, and using “…” that will and have helped me when searching the internet.

C. How will I change the ways I research?
I will now be a more cautious researcher. There is a Youtube video, Evaluating Websites, in which I learned many ways to detect if the information I find on the web is credible and with or without bias. Another site, Which Database is Best?, informed me of how and the benefits of using database searches when doing research. I think in my future classes when I have to do research papers and projects I will use databases to strengthen my work.

D. How will I change the ways I present information and collaborate with others?
After this course I will definitely not limit myself to my previous ways of presenting information by PowerPoint. The Prezi is definitely a more innovative and creative way to present information. Another innovative way I could present information would be through a Podcast. Many people make weekly podcasts on subjects and I could do the same. I could also use Blogger to post information and make available to the public. In terms of collaborating with others, I normally would use a GoogleDoc or use email but now that I know how, I could set up a Wiki space where my peers will be able to work with me and implement changes.
